Prohormones affects

A prohormone is a predecessor of hormone that is converted by the body to actual anabolic hormone. This is done by the body through enzyme processes and the functions of the outcome hormone are exactly like if you took a steroid. If ingest the hormone itself this wouldn’t be legal, because the product at the end is a steroid. The necessity to convert the prohormones is what distinguishes them from steroids. In 1996 prohormones appeared on the bodybuilding stage and they were intensively used to increase the performance in the gym. Since 1998 pro-hormones become a part of the public consciousness and after that they are widely used. In 2005 the FDA banned the most pro-hormones, because of their controversial nature and side affects. There were accusations that the prohormones caused stunted children’s growth and sexual changes in adults. The affects of these hormones were under debate, because we actually don’t know the long term affects of these pro hormones. We are just familiar with the short term affects.
